  • 1976 Graduated from Urushi Work Course, Kagawa Prefectural Takamatsu-Kougei High School
  • 1977 Studied under urushi-work artist MURAOKA Shigeki
  • 1981 Completed Researcher Program at Urushi Lacquer Ware Institute, Kagawa Prefecture
  • 1983 Developed lacquer board togidashi technique and later changed the name to irokiri urushi
  • 2007 Attended a successor training course of important intangible cultural property
    (raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) technique) and received guidance in the thick shell mother-of-pearl
    inlay technique from KITAMURA Shosai
