Yuko Matsuo

"MATSUO studied all aspects of ceramics in her grandfather’s and father’s hometown Arita, Saga Prefecture; after returning to Hagi, she studied under her father Sofu.
She works with both earthenware and porcelain. Her Hagi ware style involves painted themes and decoration.
In her activities as an artist, she produces porcelain ware, and her style includes sometsuke (blue and white), painting using washi (traditional Japanese paper), engraving, and seiji (celadon).
Currently, she is active as a full member of the Japan Kogei Association.
