Fumihiro Katsuta
I try to express the unique expressions of wild flowers and plants and the seasons with a soft touch by using Japanese traditional paper (washi) cut into shapes of plants and flowers and penetrating the paint through the paper to dye the vessels. I use iron pigments from my local neighborhood. The reddish brown colors of the iron pigments on the ivory color of the white slip coated base create a calm color tone.
