Box of Chinese Ash Wood for Tanzaku Finished in Wiped Urushi "Sea at Night"

I used the ripple marks and quilted wood grain of Japanese anise wood to resemble sea waves. After iron staining, I finished it with wiped urushi. With the curved form, the tanzaku box in total creates a tranquil atmosphere like the sea at night.
