The “scale pattern” is created by using silver wires. Usually the silver wires of baseless cloisonn? are applied as a regular mesh along the vessel shape so as to increase the strength; however, I successfully freed myself from this age-old practice, and arrange scale- or rock-like silver wire shapes to give decorativeness and strength. Depending on the angle of the light, the silver wires covered by the pale cloisonn? glazes sparkle brightly and create a perfectly clear unique color scheme and a sense of profound depth.
