This incense burner is finished with a brick-like, red overglaze and gold . Known as a yomon (leaf pattern), the pattern dwells somewhere between the figurative and abstract, recalling birds and a bright ray of light.

Yukifumi Tada
I was born in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and my family background includes my grandfather, who taught glaze at an art university, and my father, a craft artist; after working as a salary-man, I joined the world of ceramic art. I make the best use of the Kutani ware texture, overglaze colors, metals and other traditional materials, and produce ceramics with an emphasis on creative design patterns, which bring out abstractness from concreteness.
