On a shape formed by the slab-building technique, I draw a variety of animals using the five Kutani ware colors and create a contemporary dream world. This style started from a white elephant that appeared in my dream. In the dream I saw a sacred palanquin atop a white elephant and gorgeously decorated in colors that I had once seen in my childhood at a temple flower festival.
With the archetypal image of its coloration and the elephant’s movement, I set animals as motifs for my ceramic works.
Most of the artists manage their artworks by themselves, so it is sometimes difficult to confirm the availability of an artwork right away.
