On a shape formed by the slab-building technique, I draw a variety of animals using the five Kutani ware colors and create a contemporary dream world. This style started from a white elephant that appeared in my dream. In the dream I saw a sacred palanquin atop a white elephant and gorgeously decorated in colors that I had once seen in my childhood at a temple flower festival. With the archetypal image of its coloration and the elephant’s movement, I set animals as motifs for my ceramic works.
