  • 1971 Graduated from Kokura High School
  • 1974 Left School of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Waseda University. Studied the basics
    of textiles at a textile research institute Studied tsumugi-ori (pongee fabrics) and kimono
    fabrication in Kumejima Island, Shinshu district, and other regions
  • 1978 Selected for West Japan Arts and Crafts Exhibition (first time); submitted regularly to date
  • 1984 Revived Kokura-ori tradition
  • 1985 Kokura striped cotton obi sash selected for Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition
    (first time); submitted regularly to date
  • 1992 Selected for Japan Traditional Textile Arts Exhibition (first time); submitted regularly to date
  • 1994 Revived Kokura-chijimi tradition
  • 1995 Established Yuh Textile Studio
