Shunsetu Nishioka

Thirty years ago I started with the hemp cord base technique, and after much changing and exploring of a variety of materials, I have finally settled upon cotton cord.
The woven texture of the cotton cord and urushi (lacquer) gives a piece simplicity and spirit, with a somewhat nostalgic feel and finish.
