Izumi Hagiwara

When doing itome-nori (fine-line outline), I always use rice paste, and when producing my works, I only apply the rice resist paste itome Yuzen technique. My maxim for production is one continuous flow of work, and I carry out all the processes by myself from design drawing, application of paste, coloring, steaming, ground dyeing, through to washing in water. Drawing on natural themes, I aim at expressing nature through my designed motifs and compositions.
